Phemelo Sehunelo (Chairperson)

Advocate Sehunelo (43) holds a LLB qualification and is an admitted advocate to the High Court of South Africa. He served in the Northern Cape Provincial Government as Provincial Director of Housing, and was also the Provincial Masakhane Manager. He now holds various business interests in Southern Africa:

Sehunelo is a Director and Shareholder of a wide verity of mining companies and has in the past few years become a new significant player in the
Minerals and Mining sector within South Africa , by establishing new ventures and joint ventures in order to expose the true value of the mineral which lay below the feet of every South African.

Sehumelo’s legal background and expertise, together with his extensive business influence throughout Southern Africa , makes him a valuable asset to the Group of Companies.

Lionel Koster (Managing Director)

Lionel Koster (42) has been involved in the construction industry since 1988. He has a CIS and National Diploma in Construction and Project Management and has extensive experience in managing projects from inception to completion. Koster is accustomed to working on projects in excess of R250M.

He is particularly skilled in strategic planning, with the emphasis on implementation. Other fields of expertise include the evaluation and feasibility , market placement and strategy and procurement. As a member of the Group 1 management team, Koster ensures that quality developments and projects are acquired and that these projects for fill or exceed all expectations.

Cascar Setlhoke

Cascar Setlhoke (25) is qualified project manager and holds degrees in project management and public administration and law and a national diploma in the same field. Cascar has a passion and love for the Northern Cape and it’s people and as the leading force in Group 1 (North), it is his ultimate goal to see the Northern Cape and South Africa being developed to it’s utmost potential.

Cascar is a director of Blue Chip based in Kimberley and Radiant Solar based in Johannesburg, a company set up to operate in the renewable energy sector. He is also a director of Maverick Generators in the Northern Cape, a company that supplies, installs and services large capacity industrial generators required by industry and mining sectors.

Joe Loedolff

Joe Loedolff (38) has been involved in the construction industry since 1994. He has a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and a Diploma in Project Management and has experience on projects of a large and complex nature.

Loedolff is skilled in structural and aesthetic design, project management and planning, with a strong background in the management and implementation of the rezoning process. He ensures that each Group 1 project is managed from onset to finalization to fulfill and exceed all expectations.

Ian Juul

Ian Juul (47) is a Qualified CMA and a published author of the 'Small Business Survival Handbook' (Editions 1 and 2). Juul has a number of business interests with a strong background in project financing, import and export, project management, general management and financial implementation.

Daniel de Canha

Daniel de Canha (37) has been involved in the legal side of the development and construction industry since 1999 he has a B.Comm LLB (Stellenbosch University) and a Higher Diploma Tax (RAU)

He has worked for prominent firms such as Bowman Gilfillan , Bell Dewar & Hall and Allen Levin & Associates.

Daniel de Canha currently practices for his own account, namely De Canha Inc and is based in the Stellenbosch and specialises in the following fields: corporate / commercial, property (townplanning, landlord and tenant, property development and convenyancing), tax and commercial litigation.

Wayne Myburgh

Wayne Myburgh (46) received his B.Arch in 1988 at the University of Natal and is registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession.

Wayne has been involved in the development and construction industry since 1988 and has worked for prominent firms such as Waller and Associates Architects (London), Michael Todd Architects (Durban, Theunissen Jankowitz Architects (Durban) and Bentel Associates Architects (Cape Town).

Wayne currently practices as an architect and is the principal and founder of BlackCurrant Architects based in Somerset West, BlackCurrant specialises in extensive architectural design from industrial to luxury lifestyle units and villas.

The BlackCurrant team works hand in hand with Group 1, to create projects with a unique appeal and share a passion for creating excellent developments with impacts and features that tend to excel far beyond the average.
